The Consortium of National Law Universities will upload the application form for the CLAT 2023 onto the official website at the appropriate time. To successfully register for the test, candidates must complete the registration process and pay the associated application cost. Therefore, the completion of the application forms is the first step that must be taken to take the CLAT 2023 registration and get admission to one of the National Law Universities.

The Common Law Admissions Test (CLAT) is an admission test administered by the CLAT Consortium, which consists of 22 Law Universities. Candidates who want to study law in programmes such as BA LLB, BBA LLB, and LLM courses are the ones who are most likely to take the examination. Nearly all the most prestigious schools in India, including both public and private institutions, are now accepting CLAT Scorecards as a prerequisite for offering admission to applicants.

The announcement for the CLAT 2023 test was released on August 1, 2022, the first day that registration was available, and the deadline for submitting an online application was August 31, 2022. On December 18, 2022, the CLAT consortium will host CLAT 2023 for students. It is a test that will be administered online, and it will be done so for admission to LLB and LLM programmes at the 22 National Law Universities that are participating (NLUs). In addition, several participating law schools and the National Law Universities (NLUs) will accept the CLAT scorecard.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2023

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed and passed class 12 or an examination that is recognised as comparable by a board or institution. Candidates registered to take the qualifying test (the exam for Class 12 that will take place in April or May 2023) are also eligible to register for the CLAT 2023. However, to prevent their admission from being revoked, such applicants will be required to provide the certificate of qualifying examination at the time of their application for admission.

Age Limit

There is no upper age restriction for students who want to take the UG CLAT 2023 or enrol in an LLB programme at one of the national law schools.

CLAT Application Form 2023

The application form for CLAT 2023 will be made available on the consortium’s official website, which can be found at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. During the registration process for CLAT 2023, applicants are required to provide their personal information, as well as information on their communication and educational backgrounds, their preferred NLU, and other variables. Candidates who can register for the CLAT 2023 and do so successfully will be permitted to take the examination. The application cost for CLAT is 3500 rupees (Rs. 3,000 for SC and ST candidates).

Application Fee

The payment of the application fee will only be accepted in the form of an online transaction. The application fee will not be refundable under any circumstances. The applicants shall be responsible for paying any bank transaction fees while making the payment online. The following is a list of numerous categories, along with their respective application fees:

  • The application cost will be four thousand rupees for applicants who fall under the categories of general, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI.
  • The application fee would be Rs. 3,500/- for those who fall under the SC/ST/BPL category.
  • For question papers from earlier years, there will be an additional Rs. 500.

How to Apply for CLAT 2023 Registration?

  • Follow this link to see the official application (Link will be provided above).
  • Select the CLAT 2023 option by clicking on it.
  • After the page to log in appears on the screen, choose the “Register” option to begin the registration process.
  • Now, provide the necessary data to register, such as your name, email address, cellphone number, and password.
  • Hit the “Register” button to get started.
  • You must verify your account using the OTP sent to the applicants.
  • After clicking the “Activate” button, you must first enter the OTP.
  • Sign in again using the newly created email address and password, and then fill out the application.
  • At this point, pick the programme to which you want to apply.
  • Complete the application with your personal information, communication preferences, qualifying test results, and reservation requests.
  • You must provide scanned pictures of your photograph, signature, and other necessary papers per the specifications outlined by the relevant authorities.
