CGL Tier 1 Exam Merit List
The merit list is created based on the scores candidates achieve in the exam. After evaluating all the answer sheets, the scores are normalized to ensure fairness, especially since the exam is held in multiple shifts. Once the scores are calculated, the candidates who score above the cut-off marks are included in the merit list. This list ranks candidates according to their performance, with higher scores getting better ranks.
Being on the merit list is important because it determines who moves on to the next stage of the selection process. Only those candidates who make it to the merit list are considered for further rounds, like the Tier 2 exam. The higher a candidate ranks on the merit list, the better their chances of securing the desired post in the recruitment process.
