The Eastern Railway has announced the recruitment of Act Apprentices for its various divisions and workshops for the 2024-2025 period under the Advertisement Notice No. RRC/ER/Act Apprentices/2024-25. This recruitment is conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, aimed at providing technical and skill-based training. RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment 2024

This recruitment is specifically for apprenticeship training, and does not guarantee direct employment in the railways. However, candidates who complete the Act Apprentice training will be given preference in future Level-1 railway recruitments, with a percentage of vacancies reserved for them,

ER Apprentice Educational Qualifications

To be eligible for the Act Apprentice positions, candidates must have passed their 10th class examination or its equivalent under the 10+2 system. They must also hold a National Trade Certificate in the relevant trade, issued by the NCVT or SCVT.

Age Limits

Candidates must be at least 15 years old and should not exceed 24 years of age as of the cutoff date. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwBD candidates.

Registration Fee

The application fee is ₹100, applicable to General and OBC candidates. However, no fee is required for candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, or women. The payment must be made online through the payment gateway available during the application process,

RRC ER Selection Process

The selection process is purely merit-based. A merit list will be prepared considering the average marks obtained by the candidates in their 10th class and ITI examinations, giving equal weightage to both. In the case of a tie, older candidates will be given preference. Additionally, candidates who score the same marks will be differentiated based on the date they passed their matriculation.

Candidates up to 1.5 times the number of available slots will be called for Document Verification (DV). Those selected after DV will be placed based on their community-wise merit and available training slots.
