The Assam Rifles has announced the recruitment for the year 2024 under the Sports Quota. The recruitment is open for both male and female candidates for the posts of Rifleman and Riflewoman (General Duty). A total of 38 vacancies are available, and eligible candidates can apply online from September 28 to October 27, 2024. Candidates will be selected through a series of tests, including a Physical Standard Test, Field Trial, Document Verification, and a Medical Examination.

The recruitment rally will be held to select the most capable and meritorious sportspersons who meet the required standards. The initial pay scale for Rifleman and Riflewoman under the Assam Rifles is in the pay band of Level 3, which ranges from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month, along with additional allowances and other benefits.

Rifleman/Riflewoman Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification- Candidates must have completed their 10th grade (Matriculation) from a recognized board. Additionally, they must be recognized sportspersons, having represented their state or nation or participated in national/international events in sports like athletics, boxing, football, hockey, wrestling, weightlifting, badminton, basketball, or cricket.

Age Limit- The age limit for the Assam Rifles Sports Quota Recruitment is between 18 to 23 years as of August 1, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules, which includes a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Registration Fee

The application fee is Rs. 100/- for candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories. SC, ST, and PWD candidates are exempted from paying the fee. The payment must be made through a bank deposit as specified in the official notification.
