The Colorado residents who have applied await their full rebate can check the rebate payout date and other details below. 

Colorado PTC Rebate Date

The PTC rebate supports the elderly or people with disability with their rent, winter heat expenses, property tax, and beyond to ensure they lead a comfortable life. The Colorado Department of Revenue administers the PTC rebate. 

Last year, this rebate program supported more than 7 million Colorado residents with their heat expenses and other expenses. The Colorado residents receive the rebate amount based on the schedule set by the authorities depending on the application received, approved, and processed. 

The set schedule of the rebate never changes except when the pay date falls on a weekend or holiday, which moves the payday to the next business day. Here’s the set schedule for the  Colorado PTC rebate upcoming payments based on direct deposit and paper check methods:

Based on the set schedule, you will receive the rebate amount within a month of applying or the rebate if your rebate is approved. 

What makes you eligible for the Colorado PTC Rebate?

The Colorado residents who meet the following eligibility requirements can receive the 2023 PTC rebate:

  • You have lived in Colorado between 01 January and 31 December 2023.
  • You have paid the property tax, heating bills, or rent during the 2023 rebate period.
  • You meet the income test for the rebate, which sets the income limit for single filers is less than $18,026, and for married who filed jointly is less than $24,345.
  • You are not dependent on someone else’s claim. 
  • You meet any one of the conditions below on 31 December 2023:
  • Your age is 65 or older than that.
  • You are a 58-year-old or older surviving spouse. 
  • You are a disabled person who can’t do much work due to medical reasons.
  • You have a bona fide public or private plan depending on your disability. 

Colorado PTC Rebate Amount

The Colorado eligible beneficiaries receive the PTC rebate payout based on their application year, income, age, and disability. The applicants receive the following PTC rebate amount:

  • If you apply by 15 April 2024, you can receive a rebate amount of up to $1,112 a year and you could receive an additional TABOR refund of $1600 ($800 for single filers). 

The officials have confirmed the 2024 TABOR refund arrival with the 2025 refund. The taxpayers must have filed the 2023 DR 0104. Eligible Colorado full-year residents should claim the refund to receive this, by the deadlines. You must file the DR 0104 by 15 October 2024, if you meet the following requirement:

  • You have to claim a wage withholding refund, or 
  • You need to file a Colorado return as you are required to file a federal return
  • You have Colorado income tax liabilities due. 

Deadline for PTC Rebate application year-wise

The Colorado residents can file the rebate application for the tax year before the following deadline:

  • For the 2023 rebate, you can submit the rebate application by 31 December 2025.
  • For the 2022 rebate, you can submit the rebate application by 31 December 2024. 

How to claim the Colorado PTC Rebate?

If you still haven’t applied for the Colorado PTC rebate and meet the requirements, you can claim the rebate through the following ways:

  • You must download the Rebate DR 0104PTC on the official website at or you can submit the form online on the official website for free. 
  • If you choose to send the application form via mail, you must send the mail to the following address:

  • 80261 0005
  • If you do not have the Social Security number or ITIN, you can submit the PTC rebate application through the Alternative IF PTC rebate application. 
  • People who need assistance with the PTC rebate application can request free assistance by visiting the Denver Asset Building Coalition web page or Taxpayer Service Center easily. 

How can you check the Colorado PTC Rebate status?

People who have already applied for the Colorado PTC rebate can check the rebate application status and get an idea of their application approval or processing stage through the following steps:

  • You should go to the Department of Revenue “Revenue Online” website at
  • Next, click the Refund resources and click the “Where’s my PTC rebate” option.
  • Next, enter your ITIN or Social Security Number on the next page, the PTC rebate amount (installment you are expecting), and your Letter ID number.
  • Once you enter the above details, the system will show the PTC rebate application status of your current installment. 

The Colorado PTC rebate application for 2023 is accepted till 31 Dec 2025, however, the residents should consider applying now for the rebate. The eligible residents who have applied for the rebate and are due for a payout can check the schedule to see their payout date based on when they have applied for the rebate.
