The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is a national-level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to recruit qualified teachers for primary and upper primary levels. The CTET December 2024 exam will be conducted on 1st December 2024. Candidates must fill out the application form online through the official CTET website from 17th September 2024 to 16th October 2024.

Passing the CTET exam does not mean that a person will automatically get a teaching job. It is only an eligibility test that qualifies someone to apply for teaching positions in schools. It simply ensures that only skilled individuals who meet the necessary educational qualifications can teach in schools across India. The CTET exam is crucial for those aspiring to work in government schools like Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other CBSE-affiliated institutions.

CTET Educational Qualifications

To apply for CTET, candidates must fulfil the following educational qualifications:

• Primary Level (Classes I-V): Candidates should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or equivalent.
• Upper Primary Level (Classes VI-VIII): Candidates should have a Graduation Degree with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. or equivalent qualification.

Age Limit

There is no specific upper age limit for applying to the CTET exam. However, candidates must be at least 18 years old at the time of applying for the exam.

Central TET Registration Fee

The application fee for the CTET varies depending on the number of papers a candidate opts to take and their respective category. General and OBC candidates are required to pay ₹1000 if they choose to take one paper and ₹1200 for both papers. Conversely, candidates from the SC/ST categories and those who are differently abled are charged ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both. It’s important to note that GST, as applicable, will also be added to these fees, which is to be collected by the bank during the payment process.
