Senior Product Designer – Microsoft AI & Research
Overview
Microsoft is looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to join the OneMicrosoft Growth Team. This role focuses on designing cutting-edge AI-driven experiences that engage users across various Microsoft products and services. As a Senior Product Designer, you will work with engineers, researchers, and designers to craft innovative solutions that enhance global user interactions.
This is a full-time, remote-friendly position, allowing candidates from across the United States to apply.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineers, researchers, and product managers to develop and implement product features.
- Ensure designs align with business and technical requirements while prioritizing user experience.
2. Design System Implementation
- Oversee design standards across multiple teams and ensure consistency.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advocate for improvements in Microsoft’s design system.
3. UX and UI Design Excellence
- Leverage data-driven insights to create intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling designs.
- Optimize user experiences across various platforms, including Bing, Edge, and Copilot.
4. Strategic Prototyping & Testing
- Develop and present prototypes that illustrate design concepts.
- Conduct user testing and iterate based on feedback to enhance product usability.
5. Communication & Storytelling
- Effectively present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders and executive teams.
- Advocate for design-driven decisions that align with Microsoft’s long-term vision.
6. Mentorship & Leadership
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and mentorship among designers and cross-functional teams.
- Guide junior designers to enhance their skills and contribute meaningfully to projects.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, UX/UI, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product or service design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user experience and visual design.
- Proficiency in Figma and other design tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience working in product or service design.
- Strong knowledge of interaction design principles and usability standards.
- Experience in accessibility and inclusive design.
- Ability to balance creativity with data-driven decision-making.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $117,200 – $229,200 per year (varies by location).
- San Francisco Bay Area & NYC Salary Range: $153,600 – $250,200 per year.
