Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- The candidate must have passed SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- The candidate must have also passed ITI in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India.
- Note: Candidates awaiting SSC/Matriculation/10th and ITI results as of the date of the notification are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years (as of 16th September 2024)
- Age Relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- 3 years for OBC candidates.
- 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD).
- Ex-servicemen are eligible for an additional age relaxation as per the extent of service rendered in the Defence Forces plus 3 years, provided they have continuously served for a minimum of 6 months.

Application Fee
- Fee: ₹100 (Non-Refundable)
- Exemptions: SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
Selection Process
- Merit-Based: Selection will be based on the merit prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both Matriculation/SSC/10th (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.
- Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie, the older candidate will be preferred. If the date of birth is also the same, then the candidate who passed the Matriculation exam earlier will be considered.
Medical Fitness
- Candidates must satisfy the minimum standards of physical fitness as prescribed in the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992. A medical certificate from a Government-authorized doctor is required at the time of document verification.
Training Period and Stipend
- The training period and stipend will be as per the rules applicable under the Apprentices Act.
