NS Home Credits 2024 Payout Date: Check the Payment Details!

National Servicemen will receive NS Home credits from the Singapore government to appreciate and recognize their services in the defense soon. The past and present eligible national servicemen can check the National Service Home Credits payout date and other details here. 

NS Home Credits 2024 Payout Date

The Singapore government announced the National Service LifeSG credits in Budget 2024 for eligible past and present national servicemen to recognize their services and contributions to national security. The Ministry of Defence and Home Affairs will distribute the home credits to all the eligible Servicemen.

According to government data, around 1.2 million former and current national servicemen will get benefited through the credit. The LifeSG credits also include servicemen who will be enlisted by the end of 31 December 2024. During its announcement, the government announced that it would disburse the payment in November 2024. 

Now, the Ministry has confirmed on 30 Oct 2024 that they will disburse the LifeSG credits to the eligible national servicemen automatically through the LifeSG mobile applications by 30 November 2024. 

Who will receive the NS Home credits in 2024?

The National Servicemen who meet the below eligibility requirements will receive the upcoming NS LifeSG credits:

  • The National Servicemen (NSFs) enlisted full-time after 15 Sep 2024 will be eligible for the home credits. 
  • The past and present operationally ready National Servicemen (NSmen) will be eligible for the home credits.
  • The National servicemen who will be enlisted on 31 December 2024 are also eligible for the home credits.

How much will you receive under the NS Home Credits 2024?

The Singapore government has announced during the Budget 2024 that eligible national servicemen would receive $200 LifeSG credits via their LifeSG mobile app. The national servicemen can access their LifeSG credits in the Your Benefits section of the Life SG application. 

The NS LifeSG credits will be valid for one year after the disbursement from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Home Affairs, you can also check the credit’s validity on the app.  The servicemen should understand the LifeSG credits are only valid for a year, and cannot be extended at any cost, so you must use the credit in one year. 

The government intends to recognize and show its gratitude towards the national servicemen and their families for what they have done or continue to do for the country and its security. 

Where can use the NS LifeSG credits 2024?

The National Servicemen can use LifeSG credits worth S$200 online or from physical merchants who accept payments through NETS QR or PayNow UEN QR while shopping at such stores. The national servicemen should use the credits as per their wish. 

Seeing the Singapore government intend to appreciate and show gratitude to the national servicemen of the country, many merchants have participated in the NS LifeSG credits initiative by announcing additional discounts for national servicemen. SAFRA and HomeTeamNS are participating merchants who will offer promotions and discounts to current and former eligible national servicemen. 

The national servicemen can check the list of participating merchants in the NS LifeSG credits initiative from the government-released PDF for easy navigation and convenience at https://file.go.gov.sg/promosnslifesg.pdf. The list contains at least 78 merchants with their promotion deals, validity, and location, so do check the list and get the best of the initiative to use your credits well.

Do you have to claim the NS Home credits?

No, you do not have to do anything to receive the NS Home credits released by MINDEF and MHA. As we have mentioned, the ministries will automatically disburse the payments based on the national servicemen enlistment. The eligible servicemen should understand that they do not need to click any link or provide information to receive these credits, so be aware because scammers can use this opportunity to scam people. 

According to the government, eligible national servicemen will receive a notification by SMS or letter from the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Home Affairs after the disbursement of payment to inform you there your payment is done and you can use the credits at physical or online merchant easily. 

The NSFs enlisted after 15 Sep 2024 will receive the notice of the payment processed via SMS or letter to the registered address in December 2024. After the confirmation, you can easily access the LifeSG credits on the LifeSG app.

Support for National Servicemen to navigate Life SG credits 

 The national servicemen can access the home credits on the LifeSG app, however, if you cannot access the credits on the LifeSG app, you can request vouchers hard copy to use while shopping at participating merchants.  

The hard copy of LifeSG credits vouchers can be requested by calling the NS call center at  1800 367 6767 or email at [email protected]. If you need any additional support in using or guidance to navigate the LifeSG app, you can contact the ServiceSG centers and ask for assistance to redeem the credits on time.

The beneficiaries should understand it is necessary to use the credit in one year, so ensure that you understand how to use or efficiently utilize the credits. Eligible national servicemen who have never used or downloaded the LifeSG app can download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and get assistance from the ServicesSG centers staff to use the app. 

The Singapore government NS LifeSG credits for the eligible national servicemen is a great move to show appreciation and gratitude towards the people and families who have sacrificed for the nation’s security and peace.
