The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) will release the notification for the recruitment of 18,799 Assistant Loco Pilots on January 19, 2024. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online between January 20 and February 19, 2024, through the official RRB website. For detailed information, read on.

CBT II (Online, 2 hrs 30 mins, Part A: 100 questions, Part B: 75 questions)
Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for qualifying candidates in CBT I and II
Exam Date CBT 1 will be held between June and August 2024.

RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria for the Assistant Loco Pilot position in Indian Railways are based on educational qualifications and age limits:

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have passed the Matriculation exam from a recognized State or Central board and hold an ITI Trade certificate in the relevant discipline from SCVT/NCVT. OR
A 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an AICTE-recognized institution is required.

Age Limit:

Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of July 1, 2024. Age relaxation of 3 years is applicable for OBC (NCL) candidates, and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

RRB ALP Application Fee 2024

General and OBC (NCL) candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹500.
SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PWD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class candidates will need to pay ₹250.

RRB ALP Selection Process 2024

The selection process for the Assistant Loco Pilot post involves three stages:

CBT I (Computer-Based Test Stage I):

Mode: Online
Duration: 60 minutes
Sections: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness on Current Affairs
Total Questions: 75
Total Marks: 75
Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, with a negative marking of ⅓ mark for each incorrect answer.

CBT II (Computer-Based Test Stage II):

Mode: Online
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
Sections:
Part A: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness on Current Affairs
Part B: Relevant Trade
Total Questions:
Part A: 100 questions
Part B: 75 questions
Total Marks:
Part A: 100 marks
Part B: 75 marks
Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, with a negative marking of ⅓ mark for each incorrect answer.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):

Candidates who pass CBT I and CBT II will proceed to the CBAT. After the CBAT, the final selection list will be prepared.

Visit the official Railway Recruitment Board web portal.
Look for the “Recruitment of ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) 2024” link and click on it.
Enter your basic and educational qualification details as required, and proceed to the next step.
Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and required documents.
Pay the application fee using debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI, and submit your online application.
