The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Selection Post Examination to recruit eligible candidates for various government departments. The SSC Selection Post exam is highly competitive, attracting numerous applicants yearly.

This year too, SSC invited online applications from eligible candidates for the Selection Post phase 12 exam in February. Applications were accepted from eligible candidates from 26 February to 18 March 2024. The commission will recruit 2049 candidates for different positions through this exam.

SSC Selection Post Exam Overview

The SSC Selection Post exam is divided into three levels based on the minimum educational qualifications required for the posts: Matriculation, Higher Secondary (10+2), and Graduation & above. Each level has a distinct syllabus and exam pattern. The examination is conducted in a computer-based format, and the details of the exam are as follows:

Selection Procedure

The selection process for the SSC Selection Post includes a Computer-Based Examination followed by a skill test (if applicable) and document verification. The Computer-Based Examination consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Exam Schedule

The tentative dates for the Computer-Based Examination are from 24 to 26 June 2024. Admit Cards will be issued to the eligible candidates at least one week before the exam date. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official SSC website for any updates regarding the exam schedule.

The exam pattern for the SSC Selection Post varies depending on the level of the post. However, the general structure is consistent across all levels. The Computer-Based Examination includes four sections:

Each section comprises 25 questions, and the total duration of the exam is 60 minutes. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
