The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Defence Services Examination (II) on 01 September 2024 at nationwide exam centres. This examination serves as a gateway for candidates seeking admission to various courses within the Indian Military Forces at the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy.

The commission concluded the application registration process for these posts on 04 June 2024. A large number of candidates applied for these posts. All eligible applicants will be called for the written exam. Candidates can download the UPSC CDS Admit Card from the official website using the registration details. The link will be activated at least one week before the examination.

UPSC CDS (II) Selection Process

Individuals will be selected based on two phases:

The first phase examination will be conducted in September under the supervision of the Union Public Service Commission. Thereafter, the schedule for further phases will be released on the website.

Components:

  • Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT) tests.
  • Stage II: Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Conference.

UPSC CDS (II) Examination Schedule

It is a one-day examination that will be different for each course. The examination will be held on 1 September 2024 and conducted offline on OMR sheets. Candidates are advised to be well-prepared for the examination.

UPSC CDS II Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

  • Type of Questions: Objective-type questions will be asked in the examination.
  • Medium of Question Papers: General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics papers are set bilingually in Hindi and English.
  • Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of one-third (1/3rd) marks for each incorrect answer.
