In or around September 2022, Five Guys, a popular fast-food chain, suffered a security breach that potentially exposed the personally identifiable information (PII) of its current and former employees. The breach also affected many dependents or beneficiaries and independent contractors.

The PII that may have been exposed includes names, Social Security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, and other sensitive information. Following the breach, a class action lawsuit was filed against Five Guys, alleging that the company failed to take adequate measures to safeguard the affected individuals’ PII. Although Five Guys denied all allegations and asserted no wrongdoing, the company settled the lawsuit to avoid the expenses and burdens associated with prolonged litigation.

The settlement agreement requires Five Guys to compensate the affected individuals for any damages they suffered due to the breach. Additionally, the company must implement new security measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Additionally, you may be able to claim up to 4 hours of your time at $25 per hour for dealing with the incident.
