The Orissa High Court (OHC) is going to organise the Preliminary examination for recruiting the various positions of Group B & C, offering Assistant Section Officer (ASO) and Junior Stenographer (JS) posts at the court’s establishment.

Candidates who have applied for these positions are now awaiting the announcement of the exam date and release of the Orissa High Court ASO Admit Card for exam appearances. The organisation will issue the admit card one week before the examination, and candidates can access their admit cards from the official website using the application registration details.

The organization has announced 182 vacancies for ASO and Jr. Stenographer positions. Out of the total vacancies, 147 positions will be filled by the ASO, and the remaining 35 will be for Junior Stenographer positions. The applications were accepted between 20 May to 18 June 2024 for these positions.

Orissa High Court ASO & Jr. Stenographer – Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

For ASO Positions

  • Preliminary Examination (150 Marks): This examination will be conducted to check the candidate’s General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude, comprising 150 multiple-choice questions, totalling 150 marks. Candidates will have 02 hours to complete this examination.
  • Main Written Examination (300 Marks): It includes 300 objective-type questions on English, Mathematics and General Awareness with 05 hours of duration to complete this examination.
  • Computer Application Test (100 Marks): This test will be for 01 hour, divided into two parts, Theory and Skill Test, containing 50-50 questions in both parts. Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete each part.
  • Viva-voce Test (40 Marks): The marks secured in the Viva-voce test will be added to the marks obtained in the Main Written Examination.

For Junior Stenographer Positions

  • Qualifying Test in English Language (100 Marks): This test includes questions related to English Language, comprising 100 objective-type questions with a total of 100 marks. The organization will give 1.5 hours to the candidates to complete this examination.
  • Computer Application Test (100 Marks): This test will be qualifying in nature, containing 100 questions from the parts of the Theory and Skill Test. Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete this test.
  • Skill Test (100 Marks): The dictation of an English Passage containing 400 words will be made at 80 w.p.m. and transcription on a Computer at 40 w.p.m. The candidate will have 5 minutes for shorthand typing and 10 minutes for transcription test.

OHC Assistant Section Officer Call Letter Details & Instructions

The admit card is an essential document for entering the examination hall. Without it, you can’t enter the examination hall as it contains the important details related to the candidates and instructions regarding the examination.

It contains the candidate’s name, roll number, category, date of birth, exam date, exam time, and exam centre details. It also has some important instructions that must be followed by the candidates in the examination hall.

After getting the call letter, the candidates must cross-check the mentioned details to avoid discrepancies. If you find any wrong information on the admit card, you must contact the examination authority for necessary rectifications.

Along with this document, candidates must carry a valid photo identity proof and two recent passport-size photographs handy, which will be verified by the examination authority at the time of reporting.
