The Assam government’s commitment to empowering female students with higher education has led the government to launch the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme for students. Under the scheme, the government provides a scooter for female students who score first-division marks in the intermediate examinations.
Through the scheme, the government wishes to provide seamless education facilities to the students and encourage them to pursue higher education. Last year, the government awarded 35,770 scooters to eligible students for their brilliant performance in the intermediate exam.
The AHSEC announced the class 12th results on 9 May 2024, the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of the scheme will need to apply for the scheme on the official website of the Assam Higher Secondary Education and select their preferred scooty variant electrical or petrol.
According to past trends, we expect the authorities to open the application portal for the Pragyan Bharati Scheme in July-August 2024.

Eligibility for the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme 2024 Assam
Students can check their eligibility to apply for the 2024 Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme from the below eligibility criteria:
- The applicants must reside in Assam permanently.
- The applicants should be female students who have cleared the 2024 intermediate exam with at least 60% marks.
- The applicant must have studied in the government school of Assam to apply for this scheme.

Eligible students can follow the below steps to apply for the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme to receive the scooty this year for their outstanding performance in HS examinations:
- Go to the official website of the AHSEC https://ahsec.assam.gov.in/
- Now, find the portal link of the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme.
- Next, log in to the portal using your roll number and registration number of the 12th.
- Next, select the variant of scooty (petrol or electrical) you wish to receive under the scheme on the portal.
- Now, enter your contact details on the portal.
- After this, an acknowledgment receipt will pop up on your screen, make sure you save or take a printout of the receipt for future reference.
Remember, if you do not select the variant of scooty within the given timeframe, then you will automatically be awarded with the petrol variant scooty. We advise you to choose an electric variant only when you have easy access to charging points.
When will the government award the scooty to the students under the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme?
According to the reports, the government will release the merit list district-wise containing the names, roll numbers, token numbers, and dealer names of students selected under the scheme.
The government has not released any details for this year’s scooty distribution, but seeing the past trends we can expect the government to award the scooty to the eligible students around October or November 2024.
Over the years, this initiative of the Assam Government has helped many students to continue their higher studies.
According to the reports, 2,73, 908 students have appeared for the 2024 HS examinations, out of which 2,42,794 students have cleared the examinations and girls have performed better than boys.
