RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2024
The eligibility criteria for the Assistant Loco Pilot position in Indian Railways are based on educational qualifications and age limits:
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have passed the Matriculation exam from a recognized State or Central board and hold an ITI Trade certificate in the relevant discipline from SCVT/NCVT. OR
A 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an AICTE-recognized institution is required.
Age Limit:
Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of July 1, 2024. Age relaxation of 3 years is applicable for OBC (NCL) candidates, and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
RRB ALP Application Fee 2024
General and OBC (NCL) candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹500.
SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PWD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class candidates will need to pay ₹250.
RRB ALP Selection Process 2024
The selection process for the Assistant Loco Pilot post involves three stages:
CBT I (Computer-Based Test Stage I):

Duration: 60 minutes
Sections: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness on Current Affairs
Total Questions: 75
Total Marks: 75
Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, with a negative marking of ⅓ mark for each incorrect answer.
CBT II (Computer-Based Test Stage II):
Mode: Online
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
Sections:
Part A: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness on Current Affairs
Part B: Relevant Trade
Total Questions:
Part A: 100 questions
Part B: 75 questions

Part A: 100 marks
Part B: 75 marks

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):
Candidates who pass CBT I and CBT II will proceed to the CBAT. After the CBAT, the final selection list will be prepared.
