The online application forms for various posts, i.e. Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers, Technical Assistants, Draughtsmen, Overseers, etc. in TN MAWS were accepted from 09 February to 12 March 2024. A total of 1933 vacancies will be filled up in this recruitment drive. The candidates will be selected based on their performance in various selection phases.
Tamil Nadu MAWS Paper Pattern
The written examination is the initial stage of the selection process. It is divided into two primary papers and conducted using the OMR method.
- Paper I (Subject Paper): This paper focuses on the specific subject or discipline in which the candidate has obtained their degree or diploma qualification. The subjects include various branches of engineering, such as civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, as well as planning-related subjects like town planning and architecture. Each candidate is tested on the subject relevant to the post they have applied for.
- Duration: 3 hours
- Maximum Marks: 300
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Varies based on the candidate’s category (153 for reserved categories and 204 for others).
- Paper II (Objective Type): This paper is further divided into two parts:
- Part A – Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard): It consists of 100 questions for a total of 150 marks. This section tests the candidate’s proficiency in Tamil. A minimum of 60 marks (40% of 150) is required to qualify for evaluation of Paper I and Part B of Paper II.
- Part B – General Studies: This section includes questions on General Knowledge related to the degree or diploma standard of the applied post (75 questions) and the Aptitude and Mental Ability Test at the SSLC standard (25 questions), totalling 100 questions for 150 marks.
