The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the much-awaited recruitment process for Probationary Officers (PO) for the year 2024. This recruitment drive is a golden opportunity for aspiring candidates to secure a prestigious position in the banking sector. Through this recruitment drive, positions will be filled in 11 participating banks.
As per the IBPS Exam Calender 2024, the Preliminary Test for Probationary Officers will be held in October 2024. Before that, the IBPS PO Recruitment application process will begin in July 2024. Eligibility Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university or institute. They must complete their B.A./ B.Com./ B.Sc./ B.Tech and others in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India. Additionally, candidates who have received equivalent qualifications, which the Central Government recognizes, are eligible to apply for this exam.
Computer Literacy
Knowledge of Computer Systems is essential for the positions of Probationary Officers, while it is necessary for the IBPS PO Prelims Exam, which will be conducted online only.
Language Proficiency
Knowing the Verbal and Written proficiency in State/ UT languages is desirable. Candidates must read, write and speak these languages.
Age Limit
Candidates should be 20 years old, and the upper age limit for candidates is not more than 30 years. The age relaxation as per the category is as follows:

IBPS PO Fee Structure
The category-wise fee structure is as follows:
- For SC/ST Category Candidates: ₹175/- (Intimation Charges Only)
- For General and Other Category Candidates: ₹850/- (Application Fee + Intimation Charges)
Note: It is noted that the registration fee is non-refundable. It will not be refunded in any circumstances after payment. It must be accepted online only through Net Banking, Debit Cards, Credit Cards and other Internet sources.
IBPS Probationary Officer Selection Process
The selection is based on multiple spells:
- Prelims Exam
- Mains Exam
- Interview
The organisation will conduct the Preliminary and Mains Examination online, which assesses the candidate’s subject knowledge, numerical ability and reasoning aptitude. The main examination is a descriptive paper for candidates qualified for the Prelims Exam. After conducting the Prelims and Mains, the organisation will call the qualified candidates to take an Interview Round, which assesses the candidate’s personality and intelligence.
