The newly formed Andhra Pradesh government increased the social security pensions under the NTR Bharosa Scheme to support the elderly of the state. The beneficiaries can check the revised pension amount released today by the AP government and other relevant details here.
NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme
The Andhra Pradesh newly appointed CM after the 18th Lok Sabha Election announced a rise in the social security pension scheme under the NTR’s Bharosa Pension scheme, previously known as the YSR Pension Kanula Scheme.
Through the pension scheme, the government aims to provide financial support to all segments of society who are vulnerable and poor people, especially, windows, old & retirees, people with disability, etc.
The government increased the pension amount from ₹3000 to ₹4000 and other relevant increases for the welfare of all members of society eligible for the NTR Bharosa Scheme. With the hike in the pension amount, the monthly expenditure on the pension bill will come to around ₹33,100 crore, which started from ₹35 per month in 1994-95.

NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme Eligibility Criteria
The Andhra Pradesh citizens who meet the following eligibility requirements can apply for the NTR Bharosa Pension scheme:
- You should be living in Andhra Pradesh and be a permanent resident.
- Your monthly family income should be ₹10,000 in rural areas and ₹12,000 in urban areas.
- Under the scheme, the following types of pensions are allowed, you can check it to know what pension you can receive:
- Old-Age Pension
- Transgender
- Fisherman
- Single women
- Widow
- Disabled persons
- Weavers
- Dappu artists
- Antiretroviral Therapy receivers
- Toddy Tappers
- Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown Etiology/uncertain cause patients
NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme Increase Amount
The Andhra Pradesh government has increased the social security pensions under the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme, the recipients can check the monthly amount they will receive this month under the scheme based on their conditions:
- Now onwards, the old age people, ART (PLHIV), widows, single women, weavers, fishermen, toddy tappers, traditional cobblers, Dappu artists, and transgender will receive a monthly pension of ₹4000.
- Disabled persons and people suffering with Multi deformity Leprosy will receive monthly pensions of ₹6000 from now on.
- People suffering from chronic diseases related to the kidney, heart, and lungs, such as CKDU, thalassemia, Bilateral Elephantiasis-Grade 4, CKDU not on dialysis, etc. are entitled to ₹10,000 monthly aid from July 2024 from the previous amount ₹5000.
- The fully disabled person can receive a monthly pension of up to ₹15,000 from the previous ₹5000 a month pension.
According to reports, the categories listed under the NTR Bharosa Pension scheme implementation will be counted from April 2024, so the recipients will receive the amount of three months with the July payment.
NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme Application Process
The Andhra Pradesh citizens who still haven’t applied for the scheme can avail the benefits of the scheme through the following application process:
- Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements must prepare the necessary documents such as:
- Ration Card
- Income certificate
- Residency Proof
- Aadhar Card or other identification proof
- Candidates should visit the official Navasakam website at https://navasakam.apcfss.in/ and navigate to the download section to download the scheme application form.
- You should fill out the application form with relevant details and submit the application form to the authorities and local bodies.
- The authority will review your application and after approval, the beneficiaries will receive the payment under the scheme.
The application for the new applicants is yet to begin, the government will release the documentation for the application to the scheme soon. Currently, the YSR Pension Kenuka beneficiaries will receive the hiked pension amount today, where the current government will distribute the receipts of new pension amounts.
The beneficiaries can check the status of their payment on the official website of the NTR Bharosa Pension scheme mentioned above through their username and password of the scheme account.
The enhanced social security pension payment under the NTR Bharosa Pension scheme will be processed to the account of beneficiaries, and from now onwards the beneficiaries will receive their monthly payments depending on their condition.
